Jun Fujita Eastland Disaster Photo Exhibit at Nisei Lounge

Chicago, Illinois -- Please join the Eastland Disaster Historical Society on Wednesday, July 15 at 6 p.m. at the Nisei Lounge for the opening of a photo exhibition of Eastland Disaster photos taken by the first Japanese-American photojournalist, Jun Fujita. The launch will be coupled with the release of "The 844" Commemorative Beer.


Bohemian National Cemetery Dedicates Memorial to Eastland Victims

Chicago, Illinois -- As we approach the 100 year anniversary of the Eastland Disaster, a permanent memorial is being dedicated at the Bohemian National Cemetery. The memorial and dedication will be held this Sunday, July 12 at 1 p.m. at the Bohemian National Cemetery on Pulaski Road at Foster, and is open to the general public. It is part of the old-fashioned picnic held annually at the cemetery. The picnic hours are 12 noon until 4 p.m.


"The 844" Commemorative Beer Released in Honor of 100th Anniversary of Eastland Disaster

The Eastland Disaster Historical Society (EDHS) announces the release of “The 844,” a commemorative beer brewed by Ale Syndicate Brewers for the 100th anniversary of the Eastland Disaster and will be distributed by Lakeshore Beverage.

Jury Split in Eastland Disaster Retrial

Chicago, Illinois -- The Eastland Disaster Historical Society hosted the mock retrial fundraising event "The Chicago Trial That Never Was" last Thursday, June 18 at the Harold Washington Library Center. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefitted EDHS as the organization strives to support the historical research and preservation of the history of the Eastland Disaster – Chicago’s greatest loss-of-life tragedy.

General Admission Tickets to 'The Chicago Trial That Never Was' Fundraiser Now Available

Chicago, Illinois -- General admission tickets to "The Chicago Trial That Never Was: The Eastland Disaster Criminal Retrial 2015" fundraising event are now available for purchase.

This unique, historic, and educational fundraising event will take place at the Harold Washington Library Center in Chicago on Thursday, June 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Profits from the fundraiser will equip EDHS to provide deeper research and preserve the legacies of all involved in Chicago's greatest loss-of-life tragedy -- ultimately sharing these findings with the public.
