To commemorate the 93rd anniversary of the Eastland Disaster of 1915, the Eastland Disaster Historical Society (EDHS) is hosting a respectful observance of Chicago's greatest tragedy.  The anniversary commemoration activities will be held Sunday, July 20, 2008.
  • 93rd Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony, 1:00 p.m.  (Between LaSalle and Clark Streets along the renovated lower level.  Join EDHS and the U.S. Coast Guard as we respectfully commemorate Chicago's greatest tragedy.)

  • 30-Minute Chicago River Boat Cruises, 10:00 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:10 p.m.  (Cruise aboard Wendella Boats' The Sunliner while learning the fascinating history of the Eastland Disaster.  Only $5 per person.  Depart from the Rush Street (Water Taxi) Dock.  Enter courtyard just north of Wrigley Building, take stairs down to Rush Street, then walk to dock.  See map of dock area.)

  • 3-Hour Kayak Tours, 10:00 am and 2:30 pm  (Conducted by Wateriders, 900 N. Kingsbury Avenue (just north of Chicago Avenue in the Domain Building of the renovated Montgomery Ward Complex).  Only $55 per person, 1-312-953-9287.)
