Earlier this year, our program received formal recognition from the Library Administrators Conference of Northern Illinois (LACONI), being nominated for and included in their "Best of the Best" catalog - a showcase of regional performers recommended by area librarians. (LACONI is a consortium of dozens of libraries in the Northern Illinois, North Suburban, Chicago, Suburban, DuPage, and Heritage Trail districts.)
Throughout the year, representatives from the Eastland Disaster Historical Society travel across the state and the Midwest to present "The Eastland Disaster" at libraries, senior centers, churches, schools and other facilities. The number of people who attend each presentation typically is between 50 and 100. (To see where we have presented over the past few months and years, please go here.)
