Exciting News about "Eastland: A New Musical"

Chicago, Illinois -- Eastland: A New Musical, written by Andrew White, premiered in 2012 at the Lookingglass Theatre in Chicago. In 2015, the Renegade Theater Company in Duluth, Minnesota, re-staged it. Now, after five years of diligence and perseverance, the EDHS is nearing the day when it will promote and license the Eastland musical across the country.

Noah Teplin, a senior at Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois) has been "instrumental" in helping us to our goal of making the Eastland musical a nationwide phenomenon by transcribing all seventeen songs from the production/soundtrack. (The above photograph on the left shows Noah and Andrew White discussing Eastland: A New Musical during a recent meeting.) Noah is a music educator hailing from Needham, Massachusetts, and has an outstanding background. He received the Bernard and Sally Dobroski Award for Orchestration for Northwestern’s Waa-Mu Show, he is Music Director of Griffin’s Tale Children’s Repertory Company (2013-2017), and he directed music at the Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Center at Northwestern University. He previously worked as a Music Assistant arranging and orchestrating music at the Marriott Theater in Lincolnshire, Illinois (2015).

Gary Trick likewise has been "instrumental" in envisioning, planning, and project managing the next steps to promote and license the musical. (Gary is on the right in the above photograph.) Gary brings a wealth of creative ideas and theatre experience to EDHS. Headquartered at the Royal George Theatre in Chicago, Gary is the Office Manager for Nuns4Fun and is responsible for the production of the acclaimed series of comedies Late Night Catechism and Bible Bingo. Gary is also a playwright, and will soon premiere his work about Belle Gunness, a female serial killer at the turn of the 20th Century.

Stay tuned as we continue to make progress on bringing the Eastland theatrical experience to theatres and schools across the country, including those in your area.
