The Historical Society of Forest Park's Eastland Disaster Cemetery Bus Tour

Chicago, Illinois -- On Sunday, July 29, 2018, the Historical Society of Forest Park is hosting a multi-cemetery bus tour of the Eastland Disaster victims’ graves. The tour will include Forest Home Cemetery, Concordia Cemetery, and Jewish Waldheim Cemetery, all located in Forest Park. All tour participants will receive a copy of the Historical Society of Forest Park’s 2015 booklet containing the locations, photographs, and biographies of the victims buried in Forest Park.

The tour begins at 1:00 p.m. at Centuries and Sleuths Bookstore and lasts until 4:00 p.m. After the tour, participants are invited to Shanahan’s Creole Restaurant and Bar for food, drinks, and lively conversation. The price of the ticket is $20.00.

In addition to Forest Home Cemetery, Concordia Cemetery, and Jewish Waldheim Cemetery, a significant number of Eastland Disaster victims are buried in Bohemian National Cemetery and Mount Olive Cemetery, both located in Chicago; St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Niles, Illinois; Mount Auburn Cemetery in Stickney, Illinois; Resurrection Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums in Justice, Illinois; Mount Carmel in Hillside, Illinois.
