...spoke very little about her experience... After Anna Bohn had boarded the Eastland, someone told her to stay on the (starboard) side where she was standing, because it was safer. Anna heeded this advice and, likely as a result, survived when the Eastland rolled over into the Chicago River. Anna had very bad memories from the tragedy and years later spoke very little about her experience, simply trying to forget it altogether.
