...the decision saved her life... Anna Agnes Gay was born September 26, 1893 in Chicago. She went to work at the Western Electric Company on Friday the 13th, working at the Western for ten years. Anna planned to go on the excursion and picnic.
When her two friends - brothers Fred and Patsy Potenza - arrived with her ticket, Anna's mother refused to let her daughter go. The decision saved her life. Anna later married Edward Bernard Darrow and had two sons.
