Dear Ted,
Last September we announced the television premier
of
The Eastland Disaster.
Whether or not you saw the television
broadcast, you now have the opportunity to purchase
this program to add to your personal
movie/video library. This one-hour installment
of
Chicago Stories features underwater
reenactment footage, photos taken shortly after the
ship rolled over, and several interviews with people
whose families were affected by the tragedy.
The Eastland Disaster was written and
produced
by WTTW's Wild Chicago producer Harvey
Moshman and former WGN reporter Chuck Coppola.
Harvey and Chuck initiated the idea for this
undertaking because, in their own words,
"Although we may never be able to answer
why such a compelling story like the Eastland Disaster
has been relegated to near obscurity, we feel that
Chicago's worst tragedy has gone overlooked and
underreported long enough."
Popcorn and soda: $7.95
The Eastland Disaster video:
$29.95
Watching The Eastland Disaster with family
and friends: priceless
